Young MembersWho are the Young Members?

The Young Members Committee is a forum for young professionals under the age of 35 and working in the Birmingham Insurance Community.

What is the aim of the Committee?

The aim of the committee is to allow young, similar minded professionals to:

  • Regularly meet and network
  • Organise and deliver fundraising events to raise money for the BII President's charity and the Insurance Charities
  • Generate publicity for the Birmingham insurance sector

How often does the Committee meet and what happens?

You will still benefit from the networking circle within the Young Members Committee, are eligible to be elected to one of the core committee positions and will have preferential access to all organised events. • The Committee provides an opportunity to give something back to the community through the work it does with both the President's and the Insurance charities.

This year the Young Members Committee is raising money for The National Society for Epilepsy (NSE), selected by Sue Glynn, this year’s President, as well as the Insurance Charities.

How do they do this?

The Young Members Committee raises money through sponsorship of events from companies, working in or in connection with, the Birmingham insurance industry. In addition money is generated through event entry, raffles and donations.

How much does the Committee raise?

Last year the Young Members committee raised over £12,500 for the chosen charities and is hoping to break that total this year.
